(Undated) – The national average for a gallon of gas is a nickel lower than a week ago, falling to $3.50 a gallon. The price per gallon has also fallen here in Illinois to a statewide average of $3.87, down a dime from last Monday. Across the Wabash in Indiana, the price per gallon has fallen eleven cents from last week to $3.35 a gallon. California drivers continue to pay the highest price for gas with a statewide average of $4.79 a gallon. In Mississippi, drivers are paying $2.93 a gallon on average.
