ISP Offering Bus Safety Tip Reminder

(Undated) — The Illinois State Police is reminding drivers to be alert as children head back to school. Back-to-School season means an increase in pedestrians and bicyclists in traffic during morning and afternoon commutes. Parents and caregivers should also educate their children on proper crosswalk procedures and the importance of not running in between parked cars. Schools often have very specific drop-off procedures so make sure you know them for the safety of all kids. The ISP also reminds motorists it is illegal, in all 50 states, to pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children.
