Search for South Carolina Murder Suspected Continues

(Undated) – The search continues for a suspect wanted on murder charges out of South Carolina. The search began Monday in Lawrence County for forty-four-year-old Johnathan Kelly. Kelly is wanted on charges of homicide, kidnapping, and weapons possession. According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started with a traffic stop in Lawrenceville around 7:35 p.m. Monday in which Kelly fled from authorities. A large multi-agency search effort included the Illinois State Police, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Lawrenceville Police, and Crawford County K-9 and drone units. At the last report, Kelly remains on the loose. Authorities say that if spotted, Kelly should not be confronted, instead contact 911. Kelly is described as a black male in his early 30s with short black hair, weighing 200 pounds, and is believed to have friends and family in the area.
