Watch John Stamos’ six-year-old son Billy play drums for The Beach Boys

John Stamos was joined by his six-year-old son Billy while on The Beach Boys ‘Endless Summer Gold’ tour – watch footage below.

It was announced in May that the Full House actor would join the band for 16 shows as they commemorate the 50th anniversary of their 1974 compilation album ‘Endless Summer’.

Over the weekend, Stamos was also joined by his son Billy, who can be seen in clips wearing noise-dampening headphones as he performs a drum solo during ‘Good Vibrations’ alongside his dad. “Had a little help from my son BILLY on good vibrations last night – Wasn’t it nice!” read the caption of the post the musician and actor shared.

The day after posting the clip, he reflected on losing his dad with a video of him performing on the tour. “I lost my dad 23 years ago today,” he wrote. “This song is called Forever, – and that’s how long love should last.”

In the clip, he is visibly emotional and tells the audience: “You know, the things that separate us seem so small compared to what brings us together. Isn’t that true? I mean, music unites us, and it’s so personal yet it’s so universal.

“And, if anything, I would love for you to take a little piece of tonight home in your heart with you and just go to it when you need it most. Cause you never know, tomorrow is never promised. I lost my father 23 years ago tonight, and I think he’s with me tonight.”

The remaining ‘Endless Summer Gold’ 2024 tour dates with John Stamos are:

AUGUST 2024
30 – Los Angeles, California, Greek Theatre
31 – Temecula, California, Pechanga Resort Casino – Pechanga Summit

SEPTEMBER 2024
01 – San Diego, California, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park

The current iteration of The Beach Boys will not feature founding member Brian Wilson, who retired from touring in 2022. Wilson was recently placed under a court conservatorship due to a “major neurocognitive disorder”.

Recently, Frank Marshall’s The Beach Boys documentary was released, pipped as a “celebration of the legendary band that revolutionised pop music”.

In a four-star review of the film, NME wrote: “That the film cuts the story short before Dennis’ death by drowning in 1983, though, gives this classically traumatic rollercoaster tale a certain lightness. Touches such as their teenage harmonising and their popular resurgence following 1974’s ‘Endless Summer’ compilation shine through.

“We learn that, by getting their family to phone in radio votes for their 1961 debut single ‘Surfin’’, they were arguably one of the first “industry plants”, and much is made of their formative influence on the Californian dream. The film’s most heart-breaking moment comes with Love in tears over the fact that the band’s legal issues left them so dislocated that he couldn’t tell Brian that he loves him – but we end on a shot of the band’s surviving members gathering on a beach, differences set far aside. Vibrations remain good.”
