CMH Offers Insight into Pain Management

(Undated) – If you are a “weekend warrior” or just dealing with the aches and pains of life, CMH is offering some tips to help manage that pain. According to Crawford Memorial Hospital, the over-the-counter medication you should take depends on your type of pain and comes with its own risks. They say things like Acetaminophen such as Tylenol are great for pain management by changing the way the body senses pain. However, they can affect your liver. Ibuprofens such as Advil, Aleve, and Motrin are great for inflammation. They say these types of medications can be hard on your kidneys and stomach. CMH says if you are taking any of these “regularly” and your pain is not being controlled it’s time to see your primary care provider.
