Sheriff’s Department Issues Scam Warning

(Undated) – The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department has issued a scam warning. According to authorities, dispatch has fielded multiple calls from residents receiving phone calls that appear to be from the Sheriff’s Department, stating they have active warrants regarding jury duty issues and owe money. They are even reportedly stating they are current or retired deputies. Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, says this is a scam. If you receive such a call, disregard and hang up immediately and do not provide information or money.
