IDNR Reminds Hunters to be Safe in the Stand

(Undated) – The bow season is ongoing and firearm deer hunting season is just around the corner in Illinois. The IDNR is reminding hunters to be safe when hunting from tree stands. Hunters should use safety harnesses when hunting from tree stands in the field. Tree stands are the number-one source of hunting-related accidents and fatalities in Illinois. According to the IDNR, the 2024 firearm deer season takes place November 22nd-24th and December 5th through the 8th. They say archery season continues through January 19th, except in counties with a firearm season.
