Carol Ann Decker, 78, of Oblong, IL, passed away on November 18, 2024.
Born in Crawford County, IL, to Chester and Ruby (Allison) Decker, Carol grew up in Flat Rock and graduated from Robinson High School. She spent many years working at Victor Dana until her retirement, where she formed lifelong friendships with her colleagues.
Carol’s love for her family was immeasurable. She cherished her role as a sister, aunt, and great-aunt, always putting her family first and doting especially on her great-nephews, who brought her endless joy. Carol had a knack for making people laugh with her playful sense of humor and was known as a simple, down-to-earth soul.
An avid Elvis Presley fan, Carol’s love for “The King” even took her on memorable trips to Graceland. She also had a talent for cooking, and her homemade rolls were a favorite at family gatherings. In her free time, she enjoyed walking her beloved dog at the forest preserve, dining out with her Victor Dana friends, and attending the Bible Chapel Church for a time.
Carol is survived by her sister, Lana Brannon; brother, Von Decker; her nieces and nephews, Tori Bell, Stacey Decker, Deanna Woodworth, and Vincent Decker; and her great-nephews, Ryder Brannon, Deondre Bell, and Blake Bell, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22nd, at Jones Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the “Crawford County Forest Preserve,” with envelopes available at the cemetery.
