OPD Continues to Accept Applications

(Oblong) – The Oblong Police Department is looking for a full-time officer. According to Oblong Police Chief, Colton Williamson, the Village is currently accepting applications for both “entry level” and lateral transfers. Qualified applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application with a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, strong communication, and critical thinking skills, and must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check. Entry-level officers must perform and pass the “P.O.W.E.R” test to proceed in the hiring process. Candidates will be advised of the P.O.W.E.R. test date, time, and location after the resume deadline. The application deadline is January 17th.
