(Undated) – Gas prices are trending higher as we head into the weekend. According to GasBuddy.com, the current national average is $3.12 a gallon, six cents higher than last Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.24 a gallon, unchanged from Friday. Across the river in Indiana, the statewide average is $2.99 a gallon, down three cents from a week ago. Mississippi drivers are paying the lowest prices in the nation with an average of $2.64 a gallon. Those in California are paying the highest prices at $4.39 a gallon.
