(Undated) — Illinois continues to be in the “deep freeze.” The National Weather Service says high temps will only reach the single digits today, with wind chills as low as 20 below zero in some areas. A “Cold Weather Advisory” remains in effect throughout the state. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. They say frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. They remind the public to use caution while traveling and wear appropriate clothing including a coat, hat, and gloves.
