We “Spring Forward” Sunday

By Tony Collins Mar 7, 2025 | 6:38 AM

(Undated) — If you need more sunlight, you don’t have to wait much longer. “Daylight Saving Time” begins Sunday, when we “spring forward.” Clocks will set forward an hour beginning at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, shifting 60 more minutes of daylight to the evening hours until the time moves back an hour again this fall. The move to end the annual time change continues. Senator, Rick Scott, of Florida reintroduced the “Sunshine Protection Act” in January to “lock the clock” and “make Daylight Saving Time the year-round standard.” In 2022, the “Sunshine Protection Act” was passed by unanimous consent by the Senate but was not voted on by the House. Fire officials say the twice-annual clock shift is a good time to test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and change batteries if needed.
