National Average For a Gallon of Gas Has Ticked Lower

(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded fell over the weekend. According to GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.09 a gallon, down four cents from Friday’s average. Here in Illinois, the average is $3.40 a gallon, up a penny from Friday. Across the Wabash in Indiana, the statewide average is $3.18 a gallon, unchanged from Friday. Mississippi drivers are paying the lowest prices on average in the nation at $2.63 a gallon, down two cents from Friday. California drivers are paying the highest statewide average at $4.56 a gallon, down a nickel from Friday.
