Crawford County EMA is Monitoring Severe Weather Threat

By Tony Collins Mar 27, 2025 | 6:43 AM

(Undated) — Crawford County Emergency Management Agency continues to monitor the weather. They are watching two more chances for storms in our area this week. CCEMA says the first chance is today, with the second and more severe chance on Sunday. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, tonight’s front could bring hail up to an inch in diameter, damaging winds up to 60 mph, and locally heavy rainfall. We are currently at a level one out of five, or a “slight” risk of severe thunderstorms tonight. On Sunday, we could see damaging wind gusts, large hail, and possible tornadoes. However, exact information is difficult as Sunday’s system continues to develop. CCEMA reminds everyone that preparedness is key and you can find helpful tips at ready.illinois.gov.
