(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong continues to work on “bringing a new spirit of togetherness into downtown.” Work continues on the new stage/pavilion project in the “mini-park” area on South Range. Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, says the area will promote and provide opportunities for concerts, school activities, plays, a relaxing lunch spot with friends, and be utilized for festivals. Fielder says the project will continue in phases and fundraising continues. Those interested in being a part of the project can purchase engraved bricks to be used in the building of a fire pit and walkway. These bricks hold sentimental value to the village as they came from Ma Burton’s store. Bricks can be viewed and purchased at Vault Antiques.
