Village of Oblong Hiring “Building & Grounds Keeper / Utility Technician”

(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is now hiring. Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, says the Village is looking for a “Building & Grounds Keeper / Utility Technician.” This position will require maintenance projects involving Village streets, alleys, parking lots, water systems, parks, buildings, and all other Village-owned property and equipment. She says the 40-hours-per-week job requires a rotating “on call” duty with a 20-minute maximum response time. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires the employee to be enrolled in the random drug and alcohol testing program. The starting salary range is $18-19 per hour based on knowledge, qualifications, and experience.
