Mickey Rourke has entered the Big Brother house and the internet is already enjoying the chaos he is causing.

The latest season of Celebrity Big Brother – the 24th in total and second since it was acquired by ITV – launched on Monday (April 7), with Hollywood legend Rourke one of 13 famous faces to enter the house.

The star of Angel Heart, Sin City and The Wrestler is joined by the likes of popstar JoJo Siwa, former Conservative MP Michael Fabricant, ‘The One And Only’ singer Chesney Hawkes, Olympic decathlete Daley Thompson and EastEnders star Patsy Palmer.

Rourke was the final housemate to enter and was immediately accosted by the group who were in the middle of a conga line and asked him repeatedly to join in. Although he was initially reluctant, he eventually relented, unknowingly earning the group points.

“Mickey Rourke entering the Celebrity Big Brother house and JoJo Siwa immediately accosting him to join a conga line,” wrote one viewer on X during the show. “Life can be beautiful.”

Some on social media picked up on a moment before Rourke entered the house when he was talking to host AJ Odudu and appeared to deliberately push himself against her. “The producers checking the rule book to see if Mickey Rourke gets a warning for an incident which happened before he even entered the house,” wrote one viewer on X.

This season of Celebrity Big Brother is due to run for 19 days and will conclude on Friday April 25. The regular version of the reality show debuted on ITV in 2023, with the 2024 version’s opening episode drawing its lowest first night viewing figures ever.

ITV was also forced to apologise and remove an image of a housemate after they wore a pro-Palestine t-shirt during an episode during last year’s season.
