Birds try to break out brooms against Brew Crew

After a thrilling finish to Saturday’s game capped off by a Nolan Arenado walk off home run. The St. Louis Cardinals look to sweep the Brewers in what continues to be a tale of two teams for the redbirds. The Cardinals are now 10-4 at home and 2-11 on the road and it appears that these baby birds really enjoy some home cooking.

Today, Erick Fedde (1-2 3.33 ERA) will be opposed by former Cardinal Jose Quintana (3-0 0.96 ERA.) In 5 starts this season for Fedde he carries a 1.19 WHIP and at times has battled his command and against a tough Brewers lineup that will be a major focal point. For Quintana, he’ll be making his 4th start of the season after being a late in spring training signing for Milwaukee, and he has done it through soft contact mostly only registering 9 K’s in 18.2 IP.

How to watch: Fanduel Sports Midwest Extra

Where to listen: KMOX 1120AM/104.1 FM, WIJR 880 AM (spanish broadcast)

First pitch: 1:15 PM

Matchup:

STL: Erick Fedde ( 1-2 3.33-ERA 13-K 14-BB 1.19-WHIP)

Vs

MIL: Jose Quintana (3-0 0.96-ERA 9-K 5-BB 1.02-WHIP)

Player to Watch:

STL: Nolan Arenado: Arenado is a player who has a history of riding on the emotion of the moment and has 2 home runs in his career against Quintana. Look for Arenado to have another good game off the vibes of the walk off.

MIL: Rhys Hoskins: Hoskins and absolutley blistering the baseball right now. In his last 7 games he’s slashing (.417/.517/.583) and is hitting rockets all over the field. In his career against Fedde he’s hit .290 in 31 ab’s with 3 home runs. Honestly if you picked Contreras or Yelich for this spot it wouldnt be wrong either. This may not be the best matchup for Fedde.
