Myles Smith has shared details of a new EP titled ‘A Minute, A Moment’. Find out the details below.

Set for release on May 23 – and available to pre-order here now – the new EP comes amid an extraordinary 18 months for the British singer-songwriter, following him being named as BRITs Rising Star winner 2025 and embarking on a sold-out US tour.

It also comes just days after Smith shared his first official single of the year on Friday (April 25), a moving track called ‘My First Heartbreak’.

According to a new description, the EP is comprised of six songs, and all of which were written over the past year and tackle vulnerable themes of identity, love and personal growth.

The motif carries on from what Smith laid out in the recent single, where he gave fans a glimpse into some of his most raw emotions, and explored how confusion and self-blame arose when he was a child in the wake of his father’s absence. Listen to the track, which also serves as the EP’s lead single, below.

As well as announcing the EP today (April 29), Smith has also told fans how the new tracks come as “ a real labour of love, months of time, care, and everything I had to give”. He also shared a new poem he wrote to celebrate the announcement and explain what he means by the title.

“A moment doesn’t always look like much, but it can shift everything. Change how you see things, remind you of who you are,” he shared. “It might be a quiet goodbye that lingers or a laugh that reminds you that you’re still here.”

“It can hurt, but it can help. And sometimes it’s both, and sometimes it’s all at once.
You see it lives in the grey. It’s not quite clear and it’s not quite lost. It’s just real,” he added. Check out the full poem in the new Instagram video below.

The forthcoming release follows on from his EP ‘A Minute…’ which featured the viral hit ‘Nice To Meet You’. It also arrives following a huge 2024 for Smith, including slots on the TODAY Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Later… with Jools Holland.

After wrapping up his ongoing US headline tour dates, Smith will be joining Ed Sheeran for the European leg of the ‘Mathematics Tour’. Visit here for tickets to Smith’s upcoming live shows.

As aforementioned, earlier this year the Luton singer-songwriter was named the recipient of the BRITs Rising Star award ahead of the ceremony at the 2025 BRITs – joining an alumni of winners including Adele, Sam Smith and The Last Dinner Party.

On the red carpet, Smith spoke to NME about the award and shared what it meant for him to receive the trophy.

“For me [this award] has always felt like a nod in the right direction. Being so early in my career and having that reassurance has been amazing. It’s been 15 years since I started playing music, so it’s been a long time of trying to understand myself, my artistry, what I want to say and how I want to say it,” he explained.

“It’s about speaking from an honest place and a place of authenticity. Trying to share real stories and real feelings and real emotions in my music, because it’s so easy to hide behind being an artist,” he added.

“It’s easy to hide behind the mystique of it all, but actually speaking from the heart and putting that into records to share with the world? It’s been a challenge that I’ve tried to set for myself.”
