Donnie dazzles all week long

This week Brendan Donovan lead the way offensively for the St. Louis Cardinals going 11-31 (.354) including 4 doubles, 1 home run, 3 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Donnie had his 14 game hitting streak (career long) snapped on Saturday but continues to make Oli Marmol’s decision to bat him 3rd look like a smart decision. This season we’ve heard Brant Brown tell guys in the lineup to be “hit collectors” and Donovan has embraced that approach. Donovan’s 31 hits are 2nd in MLB, only one behind the leader, Aaron Judge.

Other notable performers this week:

Lars Nootbaar: 5-25 (.200) 1 HR 6 RBI 2 2B’s 6 BB’s

Thomas Saggese: 6-18 (.333) 4 2B’s 3 RBI

Matthew Liberatore: 2 GS 1-1 W-L 12.2 IP 2 ER 9H 13 K’s 2 BB’s
