Investigation Continues Into Fatal Weekend Accident

(Undated) – The investigation continues into a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday. According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, a 2023 Tesla Model Y driven by forty-four-year-old Clinton Keown, of Evansville, IN was traveling southbound on County Road 1400E just south of County Road 900N when the vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, continued over a field entrance, struck the face of the guardrail, continued through the guardrail, over several large rocks before coming to rest into an empty creek bed next to concrete support. Authorities say Crawford County Rescue, LaMotte Fire Department, and United Lifecare Ambulance Service were also dispatched to the scene. Emergency personnel had to perform “vehicle extraction measures” on both the driver and passenger of the vehicle. The driver was transported to the Crawford Memorial Hospital via United LifeCare Ambulance Service and later pronounced dead. His passenger, forty-four-year-old Matthew Redd of Newburgh, IN was transported via United Lifecare Ambulance Service to the Crawford Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville.
