(Undated) — The Internal Revenue Service is warning Illinois businesses look for a new scam. According to IRS Spokesperson, Lauren Winebrenner, scammers are trying to convince business owners that they may be eligible for a tax credit.
She says the ERC Tax Credit is real but you don’t need anyone to get the credit for your business. She says they can be claimed via an amended tax return. To learn more and find out if your business is eligible, visit irs.gov.
